UPDATE: 3:22 p.m.
Waterloo Region Police Service investigation is still ongoing. Ryerson PS is still under a hold and secure. No students or staff will be released until instructed by police.
Dear Ryerson families,
Please be advised that the school is currently in a hold and secure at the request of Waterloo Region Police Service who are dealing with an incident in the area.
Please be assured that everyone in the school is safe and we’re able to carry on with our day as normal. However, until the police give us the all clear, we will not be able to release students from the building. This means that students on buses may be delayed on their journeys and those who walk home or are picked up will likely be late.
Our board is updating social media channels, so please keep your eyes peeled to @wrdsb on Twitter and on Facebook.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we await further information from the police.
